Cafe Argo

The staff were lovely and the atmosphere in the garden is so relaxing we had trouble leaving. Trees, a fountain, sunlight and a breeze with the sound of the flowing river in the background.

At all it was a 5star meal and time in Cafe Argo. Definitely it's a full menu restaurant not typical coffee spot. Really good prices for most of menu.

I stopped briefly in Kutaisi on my way from Tbilisi to Batumi and so glad my driver recommended this restaurant! I had the eggplant with walnuts and it was the best one I’ve had. My server named Nia was so nice and my dog who’s also named Nia loved her too! The best part was the atmosphere- there’s a beautiful garden in the front and I sat on the gorgeous back terrace overlooking the water. The sound of the rushing river is so relaxing. I hope to come back one day!

Café Argo in Kutaisi offers a wonderful outdoor experience with a calm atmosphere surrounded by greenery and facing the river. The lemon drink is delicious and elegantly served, and the molten cake with ice cream and fruit sauce is the tastiest I’ve ever had! A perfect place to relax and enjoy.

Very delicious food at a great price! There’s a wide selection of local wine and food on the menu. The restaurant is located right by the river. The staff spoke good English.

An ideal place to enjoy your food or drink right on the riverside of Kutaisi. Affordable prices, tasty food and friendly service who try to help you with their poor English. We had a great time enjoying our drinks with the company of some live music. Recommended

The outdoor seating is beautiful, with light tree shade and a nice breeze. The indoor area is spacious, comfortable, and very well air-conditioned, which is great during hot weather. There are also river-view tables, but they’re usually full and tend to be in direct sunlight. One of the highlights is a staircase that leads directly down to the river — you can stop there to enjoy the view and take some beautiful photos. The menu was a bit hard to read due to unclear translations and some Georgian text and lack of main ingredients, but the waitress was super helpful and guided us through our choices. Note: The burgers are not halal. We ordered grilled chicken, fried chicken (very generous portion), a Caesar salad with cheese and tomatoes, and rice (one portion of rice is for 1 person). We also ordered a jar of home made lemonade (refreshing). There are a few parking spots available — they seem to be free, though we’re not completely sure. I don’t also want to forget the live-music and the talented singer! Prices are reasonable, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and family-friendly. Highly recommended for those who enjoy natural surroundings and a calm dining experience by the river.

This restaurant is the charm of the old city. We sat outside, with a stunning view of the river flowing between two historic bridges. The food is fusion.I was impressed to find khachapuri, a Greek salad, and a lava cake all on the same menu and all done remarkably well. Great lunch experience!
